geoff beasley

I got my first guitar at age 6 and have been a musician most of my life. I started playing keyboards in bands in the  early seventies and have been activley involved with creating and performing music in Melbourne ever since .For the last 7 years I have been one of the vocalists in the Radio Rhythm Orchestra.  Without any formal training, I have simply followed my own path, listening to the music of my mind and being attracted by others who do the same. Among my strongest influences are Thijs Van Leer, John McLaughlin, George Duke, Miles Davis, Jan Akkermann, Gino Vannelli, Schubert, Mahler, Michael McGlyn (ANUNA), and many others.Click on the play buttons below to listen.

You Never Said (1998)

Dubious Value (1995)
One I composed and performed for use in a handbag  video!
Recorded on analogue 8 track equipment. Light "summery feel".

Tomorrow (2007)

I wrote this sad lullaby in 1995 after the loss of one of my daughter Imogen's school firends, in a car accident. She was only nine years old.I was unable to finish the work at the time. It lay forgotten for twelve years, then Imogen,by then 21, finished the lyrics for me. I still get quite emotional about this one .

Featured artists are Peter Blick: Drums, Kim May: Dbl Bass, Ian Hellings: Flugelhorn, Laughlan Davidson: Sax, Shannon Barnett: Trombone and I did keyboards and voice.

Step Aside..   (1995)

Another work for a visual product. This one has a catchy melody and a cool rhythm... just me this time.

Jabawilli (1993)

A rough realization of a tune I'm quite fond of. I must get around to making this one properly one day soon.
